The Module is completed when: setting identifies how a course will be set to complete in any SCORM Learning Management System (LMS).  You must choose one of the following:

  • All of its pages have been viewed - The learner must view all pages in course to have the course status set to completed or passed.
  • A percentage of its pages have been viewed - The learner must view a pre-determined percentage of the course page to have the course status set to completed or passed.  For example, if the Percentage of pages viewed is set to 10%, a learner receive completion credit if they view any 10 pages of a 100 page course.
  • A specific page number has been reached - The learner must view a specific page number in the course to have the course status set to completed or passed.  For example, if it is mandatory for the learner to view the certain page of a course (e.g. company policy on Page 10) but not mandatory for them to view all of the course material, the course can receive completion credit if they only view Page 10 in the course.
  • Its scored assessment has been completed - The learner must complete the assessment included in a stand-alone assessment course or an assessment included at the end of a content topic course.  Note:  The passing score is set when creating the Assessment module.

Motive LMS Recommendation:  What determines how a course is to be set to complete depends on the type and importance of the course content.   For regulatory courses, we recommend either All of its pages have been viewed or Its scored assessment has been completed.  For courses that do not require proof of completion a low percentage of page or page number can be set using A percentage of its pages have been viewed or A specific page number has been reached.
